I cannot describe the sadness I am feeling right now. Our Dog Scoober died today and we are crushed as a family. He got loose and went to chase the runners in the State park across the street and was hit by a car. He died instantly. My husband feels horrible guilt and we have not told one of the boys yet as it will be very tough. Finally, to make it all worse, Scoobs and our mini dachsund Gucci were mates, love bugs, partners, husband & wife.

Thanx so much for your thoughts. I am still just so stunned. I just cannot believe I will never hug my Mr. Doobs again. I am really trying to stay positive especially for everyone else. My boys don't remember a time when we didn't have Scoobs but are both doing much better than anticipated. Gucci is looking for him non-stop which is the heart breaker. Hope tomorrow is a better day~

Oh Dani! I am so sorry for your lost- I can't even imagine the grief you must be feeling. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and I love them like babies!

poor little darling, you must have felt dreadful in so many ways. And yes I agree about the loss of a pet. They are a special part of our lives and a loss is keenly felt.

The poor little thing! I'm sorry. Doggies are just like members of the family....only with more fur.

Such a sad story! I cannot get myself a dog as I know I would probably outlive her and the grief of loosing her would be intolerable. Scoober is at peace now (is there a doggie heaven?) and you gave her the best life ever, full of love.
