Advertising..ARGH!!

New ad mock up for "Where Women Create"

With any luck the above ad will be accepted by Stampington for my upcoming May ad in "Where Women Create".

I chose to use my "Ode to Tim Burton" ornament for the ad, as it is my most viewed picture ever on Flickr! CrAZy!!

Also Flickr has it in their Explore feature since November of 2008! For whatever reason this picture tickles people and I LOVE IT!! I am happy to say that this ornie resides with one of my all time favorite artist's, Kristen Beason. It makes me happy to know each year he will be on a wicked good Halloween Tree, amongst other sweet & spooky friends!

I cannot begin to tell you how much time it takes me to work on ads for STJ and Ambitions Design. I do not have a photoshop type of program and am befuddled by some of the requirements for print ads vs. internet.

I do use Picnik.com which is heaven sent as it is made for "people like me". However, regardless of the program you use, if the original quality of the image is not up to par is all worthless when it comes to print ads.

As soon as time allows I would like to take some sort of crash course in a photo editing program. I had downloaded a 30 day free version of Corel and thought "sure, I can figure out". WELL NO I CANNOT!!!

If anyone can suggest a program or suggestions for a photo editing challenged gal, I would greatly appreciate it. And for those in the area, if you know how to use one and want to teach me...let's work a deal!! I need help!

Dani, the ad is gorgeous! No worries there for sure :) Hmm...other than your standard Windows editors, I can see where Photoshop and Corel might be a challenge. Ahh, alas, I don't know how far away you are but if you ever wanted to come to NYC I might be able to show you :)

Honestly I have photoshop elements and I keep going back to "Microsoft digital Media, Platinum Editionor Anniversay edition" Easy easy to use.

Love your work.

Dani - you do a WONDERFUL job with your advertising, give yourself more credit! As far as photo editing, try Photoshop Elements - it's not as hardcore as Photoshop and is a bit more user-friendly.

I'll throw my two cents in- Photoshop Elements - if I can use it - you totally can. It's fun too.

I will add to the thumbs up for photoshop elements. I googled the first instructions on how to create a banner, and from there I've gone nuts! It's been so much fun! I do have a mac, but that was a challenge until I understood the machine. You can do it if I can, that's for sure! The ad is great by the way! Good luck to you.

Wonderful Dani!!!As hard as you work you deserve recognition!
I've heard that inkscape and gimp
are very user friendly, but for the computer challenged like me
nothing seems to sink in? Much luck!1
